ITINERARY
Day 1 – Lisbon
On arrival at Lisbon’s airport, you will be welcomed by your English speaking guide and the driver who will be with you throughout your tour. Panoramic tour around the city. Accomodation, dinner and overnight at a 4* Hotel in Lisbon region.
Day 2 – Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the visit of Lisbon, a hymn to color, remarkably set on seven hills at the mouth of the Tagus, this city is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful capitals of Europe. We will discover together, the typical neighborhood of Alfama, with its winding streets and flowered balconies. Climb to the Belvedere of Santa Luzia from where we have one of the most beautiful panoramas on Lisbon. Continuation of the visit to Rossio and the Commerce Square. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, discover the Belém district, whose numerous and prestigious monuments recall the century of great maritime discoveries: the Monument to the Discoveries (exterior), the elegant Tower of Belém (exterior) built in the XVth century on the Tagus River and the Jerónimos Monastery, testimony of thanks for the discovery of Vasco da Gama on the spice route to India and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (visit the nave of the Monastery). Tasting of the famous Pastel de Belém (one of the 7 gastronomic wonders of Portugal) in a typical pastry of this district. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Option: Fado and / or Folklore dinner party in a typical Lisbon restaurant.
Day 3 – Lisbon – Sintra – Óbidos – Center Region
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure to Sintra, city of lush natural beauty and favourite residence of the sovereigns who built beautiful palaces there. Visit to the National Palace considered an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch at a restaurant. Departure to Óbidos and visit of this medieval city to discover the charming paved streets lined with white houses nestled against each other. You will see the ramparts (outside) dating from the Moors occupied by the dungeon and the high towers of the castle. Afterwards you will visit the Castle (exterior) with its facade pierced with Manueline geminate windows with twisted columns and a Manueline portal surmounted by two armillary spheres. Tasting of Ginginha, a typical liquor of the region, in a glass of chocolate. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at a 4* Hotel in the Center Region.
Day 4 – Center Region - Alcobaça – Batalha – Fátima – Praia da Vieira – Center Region
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the city of Alcobaça, heart of the Portuguese ceramic industry. Visit the church of the Monastery of Alcobaça, an austere monument, characteristic of Cistercian architecture. After, departure to Batalha and visit the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitoria. Magnificent building, one of the finest monuments of Manueline Gothic style in Europe: Unfinished Chapels, Monumental Portal, Royal Cloister finely chiseled in gilded stone, form an astonishing ensemble of beauty. Lunch at a local restaurant. After, departure to Fátima. Visit of the Sanctuary: Basilica, Chapel of the Apparitions and Church Ste. Trinity. Discovery of the Fatima Light and Peace Museum, with the aim of safeguarding the memory of apparitions and pilgrimages. This exhibition is made up of several offerings made by anonymous pilgrims and by the highest dignitaries of the Church and society at Our Lady of Fatima. Departure to the hotel, for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 – Center Region - Praia da Vieira – Coimbra – Aveiro - Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the city that is established on the banks of the Mondego: Coimbra. The origins of this city date back to Roman times. Occupied by the Moors, the first king of Portugal Dom Afonso Henriques decided to make it the capital of his kingdom. After visit to the Joanina Library (interior), considered one of the most beautiful places due to its unique style. You will see its three rooms, connected by arches decorated in polychrome wood with shelves lacquered in red, with golden chinoiserie decorations all in a baroque style. More than 60 thousand books, dating from the 12th to the 18th century dealing with fields such as law, theology and philosophy. Lunch at a restaurant. Departure to Aveiro, to the visit of the "Portuguese Venice" – a beautiful city, surrounded by beaches and lagoons, dominated by the Central Canal running through town. We will walk in the historic center to discover the covered markets and its beautiful houses. Then, enjoy a boat trip in a traditional Moliceiro boat on the river with a taste of “Ovos Moles” a typical pastry of the region, inherited from the traditions of the female convent of Aveiro. At the end, departure to Porto for accommodation, dinner and overnight at a 4* Hotel in Porto’s region.
Day 6 – Porto
Breakfast at the hotel and visit Porto, a city located in a beautiful amphitheater on the banks of the Douro River. Old neighborhoods still intact, maze of winding streets, superb churches, multicolored houses leaning against the cliff. Discovery of one of the most sumptuous and traditional cafes of Porto, more than a coffee The Majestic tells the story of the twenties of Porto. Then walk on the typical street of Santa Catarina, busy shopping street that will take you to the central station known for its 20,000 tiles. Passage through the ex- libris of the city: the Clérigos tower, the Lello bookstore, an unique space with neo-Gothic architecture and the typical walk of Bolhão. Lunch in a local restaurant. After, visit the most famous district of old Porto: Ribeira. Cross the bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia and visit one of the famous wine cellars of Porto, of course with tasting of this precious nectar. Afterwards, departure for a small cruise of about 1 hour that will give you a different look at the city. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Porto – Porto’s airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Porto’s airport. Check in. End of our services.
