Welcome to Croatia

Croatia officially the Republic of Croatia is a country located at the crossroads of Central & Southeast Europe, on the Adriatic Sea. Its capital is Zagreb which which forms one of the country's primary subdivisions, along with its twenty counties. Croatia has a total area of 56594 sq. km. and a population of 4.28 million.  

Climate

Croatia mostly has a moderately warm and rainy continental climate. Average monthly temperature varies between -3°c in January and 18°c in July. The coldest parts of the country are Lika and Gorski Kotar where snowy forested climate is found at elevations above 1200m. 

Beaches

There are 114 blue flag beaches and unpolluted marine areas.

National Parks

 

There are eight national parks, two strict reserves, and ten nature parks. The most famous national park is Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Language

The official language is Croatian. Other languages understood are English & Serbian.

 

Visas

 

Most nationalities may enter the country visa-free for a period of 90 days.

There are 7 international airports in Croatia. They are present in Zagreb, Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Osijek, Pula. The largest & busiest airport is Franjo Tudman Airport at Zagreb.
